An Academic Honors student with a 3.5 grade point average (that is an A- average!), Blair Adams, a senior at Brown County High School, graduated from ABC-Stewart in May of 2000 and now she is now about to graduate from High School in May of 2006.

Blair began as a pre-schooler in Children’s Garden. She remembers being harassed by other student because she would bring her favorite candy to school and every one else would want some. While a Stewart student, Blair enjoyed the Independent Study Days.

Her favorite subjects at Stewart were Reading and Art. Mr. Maulin was her favorite teacher because he was so funny and Miss Pat was such a “sweet lady”. Blair always thought that math was challenging and it still is for her.

One of Blair’s favorite memories of Stewart was, one year on Water Day, Blair and some of her friends hid in Miss Judy’s closet instead of going to extended. She remembers lots of teachers from Stewart including Mrs. Solso, Mrs. Mumley, and many others. She also remembers all of the special days we had such as, Egyptian and Renaissance Day, Programs and Graduations.

Blair does not participate in any sports, but when she attended Stewart she was in Spell Bowl. Presently Blair is not very fond of school, but she like her teachers and her art classes. Regardless to Blair’s graduation speech she recalls this, “I was a ham. I wrote my speech and then I pretended I was crying and receiving some type of an award. I was a dork. I made everyone laugh really hard, though.

Blair said that, she sang with Columbus, Indiana Children’s Choir in Carnegie Hall, “that was more of an accomplishment than a reward.” Blair has gone on Mission Trips and built homes in the community of Piedras. In High School Blair has traveled to Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland, Grand Cayman, St. John’s, Aruba, St. Thomas, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, and most of the 50 states. The most interesting places she has been to were St. John’s and U.S.V.A. (United States Virgin Islands). Blair has decided to go to Liberal Arts School (“close to home”) were she wants to major in Digital Media/Graphic design and communication.

Blair commented that Stewart helped her because “I am a lot smarter than most of my peers.” Blair’s advice for Stewart students is to “always be yourself and never give up.”
